LIMA ON FIRE
A blink behind and in front of the scenes of an LGBT party in Lima by Gia's hand. Gia is a transexual artist from Lima – Peru. She is dedicated to writing, modeling, singing, acting, performance. She describes herself as an HIV+ activist. Gia has published the fanzines – books: Cuarto Oscuro (2018), Exploradoras de la Luna (2021) and her new collection of poems Lucifer and the 8 capital sins, which includes a theatrical project. Gia is a self-taught and independent artist, she has participated in various stage art projects and festivals both in Peru and in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In Peru, she has presented various stage and literary projects in cities such as Huancayo, Arequipa, Cusco, Trujillo, Ayacucho, Abancay and Lima. On the Lima scene, she has collaborated with spaces such as Casa Bagre, El Galpón Espacio, El Paradero Cultural, among other independent cultural and local centers. She has performed cabaret, burlesque, D.R.A.G., free dance, recitals, sketches, among others. Currently, she is part and mother of the House of Lust: @houseoflujuria, which is a group of independent artists who intervene in the Lima and Peruvian art scene in general, with a political and community focus - independent in marika and trans art. Gia has also starred in the documentaries “Lima is Burning” (2018), “With love, Angellina and Emilia” (2021) and the short film “Encerradxs” (2021).
